To the north of Uptown and barely two miles from downtown Dallas, the beautiful Oak Lawn lies within the unofficial boundaries of Central Expressway, Inwood Road, Turtle Creek Boulevard, Harry Hines Boulevard, and the City of Highland Park. It covers over 12 square miles and is one of Dallas’s wealthier neighborhoods.

Opening its doors in 2015, Uchi serves delicacies like makimono, yakimono, sushi, sashimi, tempura, and hot and cold tastings. Unique to its Dallas location, it also provides a seasonal menu rotating four times per year. An award-winner, kitchen designer, and cookbook author, Dean Fearing opened one of the most popular and lively restaurants in the state. Fearing’s provides guests with the best of the southwest. Between its great food and stellar hospitality, Javier’s Gourmet Mexicano is a great place to be. With a long Mexican heritage combined with a significant European influence, it is dedicated to providing its guests with authentic Mexican cuisine. Things to Do

Where the mysteries of science come alive, the Perot Museum of Nature and Science allows guests to discover the new and intriguing while wandering through the building. The museum inspires the community and fascinates all ages through its many exciting presentations, marvels, and exhibits. Displays include but are not limited to the Rose Hall of Birds, Expanding Universe Hall, Being Human Hall, Tom Hunt Energy Hall, and Lamar Hunt Family Sports Hall.
 
A local specialty museum, the Ann and Gabriel Barbier-Mueller Museum: The Samurai Collection showcases a collection that has been built over 25 years. Centuries of styles and craftsmanship are represented, from armor, horse armor, and masks to helmets and weaponry. Visitors learn about these Japanese warriors’ culture, pageantry, and life through one of the biggest collections in the world. The museum features over 140 items.

Established in 1959, the Dallas Theater Center is one of the United States’ first regional theaters. It has since become one of the country’s top producers of world premieres and creative interpretations of classics. From the traditional to the brand new, it always produces a fantastic experience for all theater lovers.

Klyde Warren Park, a 5-acre deck park connecting Uptown Dallas with the Arts District, has been a popular destination since it opened in 2012. It hosts many events and has earned national acclaim.
