With a unique and stylish ‘pink’ design, the
XOXO Dining Room is truly one of a kind. Found on Ross Avenue, the restaurant specializes in American cuisine and specialty cocktails from the sophisticated cocktail lounge. The staff, who have over 15 years of experience, are dedicated to continuously creating new and unique ideas. The playful and enjoyable atmosphere forms a place where guests can get great food while enjoying time with friends or family.
The pique of top-quality hospitality,
the Monarch creates a warm and welcoming ambiance with a wood fire and an elegant design. This modern Italian restaurant serves steaks, fresh seafood, handmade pasta, and more, creating light and fresh food with a special technique. The starters are above and beyond, such as the wood fire roasted artichoke and octopus ala plancha, and the main dishes are delicious as well. The Monarch is a fantastic example of luxury dining.
Considered to be Uptown’s main street,
McKinney Avenue combines modern sophistication with historic charm while providing local, trendy shops, major retailers, and high-end restaurants. At one corner of the avenue,
Truluck’s Ocean’s Finest Seafood and Crab uses top-quality ingredients and breathtaking presentation to create a fantastic experience, assisted by live entertainment, exceptional drinks, stellar service, and of course, delicious seafood. Another fine restaurant in the area,
Dahlia Bar and Bistro, provides great food and a delightful atmosphere for any occasion.
Things to Do
Katy Trail, which used to be an abandoned railroad line, has become one of the most iconic places to go in Dallas. More than 1.5 million people visit the park each year, enjoying the stunning nature lining the three-and-a-half-mile trail. Besides being a great place for bikers, skaters, joggers, and walkers, Katy Trail also holds events like the annual Katy 5K.
Covering 7.4 acres of land,
Griggs Park is a great place for a picnic with plenty of seats, tables, and wide green spaces. It also boasts a half-court basketball court, and leashed pets are welcome.
Opening its doors in 1992, the
Dallas World Aquarium provides visitors a chance to see animals up close, in addition to educational sessions for all ages and field trips. An expansive rainforest meets guests when they enter. The canopy level shows sloths, monkeys, and birds freely flying. On other levels, the aquarium displays various ecosystems and animals, from birds and bats to lizards, fish, and snakes. Outside the building is the South Africa exhibit, including a seasonal Madagascar exhibit.
Dedicated to connecting people with the city’s culture and humanities, the
Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture provides many programs, classes, and events. Its purpose is to deepen and enrich life in practical ways through the imagination and wisdom of humanities. Caring for aspects of the urban world, both visible, like architecture, art, and technology, and invisible, such as friendship, imagination, and leadership, the institute combines the physical shape of the world and the intangible values of culture through study, publications, civic involvement, public seminars, and conferences.
